La Feria de Abril, or April fair is celebrated every year in Barcelona to commemorate the arrival of Spring.  Originally an Andalucian tradition, it was organized in Barcelona in 1971 by Andalucian immigrants to mimic the original Feria de Sevilla.  The fair consists of your usual county fair-ish things, but also includes tents serving a myriad of food, and treats while flamenco dancers entertain and the music is loud and merry.  I’m not talking your typical funnel cake, hot dog stand kind of food… more like paella of all kinds, cured meats, fresh octopus and other seafood, dried fruit and candy stands galore, sangria, cava, and more.  I went on a ferris wheel for the first time in like 10 years and it was RAD, ate delicious food, and saw a bunch of adorable Spanish kids in Flamenco costumes.  Twas a good day, indeed.
